Come flying at the one of the world's best foot launching sites

2nd October – 9th October 2010

Come and start off the 2010 season with some 'Classic' flying in and around the picturesque Hinterland of South East QLD. Taking off with the Gold Coast in the background, flying through the mountains and out onto the flatlands... couldn't be happier if you were twins! 

'Best of the Rest' Category

Once again the Classic will be including the 'Best of the Rest' category for Australian pilots who are not in the top 20 on the National Ladder (current at start of competition). 

Entry Details:

  • Competition Dates: 2nd Oct – 9th Oct 2010
  • Register online: Coming soon
  • Registration Friday the 1st October (not Saturday morning).
  • Entry fee AU$210 + AU$30 site fees (non CGHC members).
  • EFT Payment is the preferred form of payment. (See EFT Details on this page)
  • Please note, your place in the comp is only secured after payment has been received
     
  • Paragliders, Floaters and Intermediates welcome. Maximum entrants 75 Hang Gliders + 10 Paragliders. The floater section (including Paragliders) may have separate scoring and sometimes separate tasks. The floater section is currently not sanctioned for HGFA ladder points

Experience Requirements:

Intermediate or Higher, Hang Gliding or Paragliding
(Mt Tamborine is rated Paragliding Intermediate with Advanced supervision)
(Mt Tamborine is rated Hang Gliding Intermediate)

Equipment Requirements:

GPS mandatory!
(Garmin or Aircotec Top Navigator or Brauniger Galileo).
Parachute recently repacked.

National Ladder Before Canungra Classic 2010

This year the Canungra Classic is rated AA, making it one of the top four scoring competitions in Australia this season. National ladder points of up to 360 are available at this competition.
